Inspection is a visual examination of the patient; palpation is done when the person doing the assessment places their fingers on the body to determine things like swelling, masses, and areas of pain. WebbThe breath sounds are troublesome to auscultate or are diminished when the lung parenchyma now not is in apposition to the chest wall, stopping the optimum conduction of the breath sounds. The underlying pathology consists of pneumothorax, hydrothorax, haemothorax, chylothorax, pleural thickening, empyema and atelectasis.
